This is the biggest little backpack I have ever seen. It is 5.5” deep by 10.5” wide by 15” tall (not including the side pockets for drinks). It is extremely lightweight and can be folded to fit in a small space (for example, if you were traveling and needed a bag for day trips). It is made of a tightly woven polyester fabric that appears to be waterproof (although I did not test the zippers to see if they are waterproof if submerged). This backpack was able to hold my 17.3” laptop, plus a notebook, mouse pad, folder, charging cord, and pencil bag in the back pocket (taller pocket). The front pocket is both shorter in height and is less deep; but held a calculator, multiple pens and markers, small notebook, protein bar, chapstick, keys, and had room for more. The side pocket easily held my 24 oz water bottle. The side pockets have a stretchy drawstring to better hold shorter containers (like the protein drink that I put in the other side pocket). The shoulder straps and the backside of the pack are well-padded and comfortable. There is a waist belt that can be snapped closed to help re-distribute the weight if the backpack is heavily loaded.Overall, I am very impressed with the strength, comfort, quality, and the amount of useful storage space in this relatively small backpack.
This is a fine little backpack, just large enough for a laptop, lunch, and a sweater. I think the best use is probably for travel or around town, rather than hiking, but it would work fine as a daypack. For hiking I prefer a lighter weight pack. It's the perfect size to put under an airplane seat, and the design is simple enough that it looks nice in the city, not like you're carrying around your grubby hiking pack.
While advertised as a hiking backpack, it works great for when you need an in-between of a tote, but don't want a full-sized large travel backpack. It has multiple pockets, padded straps, and isn't bulky. It would also be used when working from a coffee shop as it holds a laptop, or for your personal item on a flight for a short weekend away.Personally, I would not use this for hiking as I take a water bladder for long hikes, and there is no slot for the tube. I purchased it for general day use anyway, so that is not an issue for me.The only thing I wish was that the chest buckle were white instead of orange. The orange takes away from the overall look ,and since this wouldn't hold enough weight ot warrant really needing the chest buckle, I will likely cut it off.
I found this G4Free 15L Hiking Backpack to be very lightweight, which was great for hiking the rugged landscapes of Utah. The size of this pack was just right for me. My favorite feature, by far, was its low profile. I used to get caught on doorways with my older backpacks, but I have not had that issue once with this one - it is that compact. I loved the pockets, particularly the easily accessible mesh pocket inside where I placed my camera lenses. The zippers glided smoothly and the metal was robust. My large laptop fit inside without issue and was held safely with the Velcro strap. The shoulder straps were well padded and included a front clip to hook them together, ensuring a comfortable carry for me.
This G4Free backpack is great for a daypack! I threw in some extra clothes and other items when I was out all day going from one thing to another and it was the perfect size. It is light weight and doesn't have a lot of "fluff." Pretty much just what you need. The main compartment has a separate laptop/tablet pocket that's perfect for my ipad (or a small laptop but my 16" is too big), and has enough padding that it's protected and still comfortable against my back. The smaller compartment has a small divider flap and a zippered pocket. The zippered pocket has a small key leash, which I always find very helpful. The buckle on the front of the straps is great for hiking, but I wouldn't use it for day-to-day use. Unless maybe you're commuting in a big city. There are water bottle holders on either side, which are also the perfect size to hold a phone. They are on the small side for water bottles though, and you lose a little interior space if you have a decent sized water bottle there. I included a can in one of them for size reference. The only thing I think is missing from this pack is an elastic strap or carabiner/hook to tie a jacket or hat to. It would also be great if it had a small outer pocket for a phone, so you don't sacrifice a drink holder. These are just preferences though, so I didn't reduce my rating for that. As is, it's a very well-made daypack with nice features.
